mythos
Is there harmful fumes/odor when heating a lead jig head with a heat gun before dipping it into powder paint? Just curious, cause I'm would like to dip some jigs in powder paint inside the house instead of outside...only temporary though. It started to finally rain here in nor cal. cadman
I paint all my jigs in the basemant and there are no harmful odors or fumes when powder painting jigs. The same goes for baking them as well. Edited March 17, 2012 by cadman
BLT
I do mine n the garage. Nothing when painting, but there is a smell when baking. I bake a lot at a time though. Nothing harmful though......unless the wife walks through the garage while baking, she always has to say something lol.
mythos
I will have to powder paint in the garage. I TOTALLY FORGOT my wife is pregnant!! Can't believe I was going to risk her and my baby's health by heating up the lead and powdering it inside the house. Dodged a bullet there. Anyways, it's still good to know that there are no fumes/odors from heating the lead though...but I won't risk it. archeryrob
I could powder paint in the basement, but as said above I would never bake in the house. I don't think its Harmful but I would be assured to have a rear end handed to me from the other half! My garage smells up fair good baking them in there.
