Bobby Saffel
I have just started this and was wonder how do they get two colors in one. One of my favorite colors is okeechobee craw. Green Pumpkin base color with blue flake one one side. Another is junebig base color with blue flake on one side and green on the other. How do they make these? bryanmc
Do a search in this forum for "laminate" and you'll find tons of info. Check the soft plastic section of the "How to" section as well.
Little man baits
One of the most common ways of shooting laminate baits is with a twinjector and blending block. And then there is also pouring half of your bait in one side and then putting the mold back together and shooting your second color. What molds are u using? One piece or 2 piece molds
Jig Man
I do lams on some of my baits. Some I inject with a blending block and 2 injectors and others I pour half into one side of the mold, close the mold and pour the other side. Either way works just fine on simple baits. Bobby Saffel
I'm new to this so forgive me, but does a blending block mix the colors? I looked at them on the internet and it looks to me that they would mix the colors as they go into the mold.
DaBehr
Nope...not sure why the called it "blending"...but that what you use. The other alternative (especially for round baits) is to use a very thin gauge (36 gauge) aluminum sheet (available at art stores and hobby stores in a roll) between the two halves of the mold. You shoot a bunch in one color ....and you end up with two 1/2 baits per shot. You can also use household aluminum foil (fold it a couple times) or thin gauge flashing from the hardware store. http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/metal-sheeting-864678/ Reload the one side ....and shoot the other color and magic!!! You can make a ton of laminate stick baits this way in a real hurry!!!
Bobby Saffel
Good Idea, but I don't fish worms much. I'm more into creature baits. I don't mind buy a blending block if it works, how do I use it? i have injection style molds and wanted to get two colors in one bait. One of my favorite colors is okeechobee craw. Do I put my plastics in the blending block and let it go straight from the block to the mold or do I have to do something else? Sorry for all the questions. SHK
you need 2 injectors. put the block in the mold, and situate it so it will put one colour on half the mold and the other colour on the other half. then load the plastic in the injectors (one colour in one, the other colour in the second) and inject them into the block at the same time. here is a video,

Largehead Louie
BassTackle.com's Blending Blocks are the BOMB. Well worth the small investment. I personally have 4.
