J lure
Hey Guys, I'm trying to build a new lure and I need it to swim! But when I reel it in all it does is spin in a circle..... I've tried everything but nothing is working. Any help would be appreciated and any advice would be helpful. Thanks Jason

J lure
Well I'm working on a soft plastic swim bait and a hard bait like a crank bait. The soft plastic bait does not have a paddle tail and I have also tried a hook with and without a weight.

If my assumption is correct it is a weight problem. Put it in a bowl of water with your hook of choice in it. Get it to float or sink the way you want it. Then try it during a retrieve. UNO
Bob, That is a top shelf idea. J Lure, If you hook the guys on this forum up with a picture, I have no doubt they will point you in the right direction. Good Luck.
weighinalimit
Without seeing the bait to know, I can only take a wild guess.......as impossible as it sounds, you probably have too much tail. Seriously, it sounds like the swimming tail section is too much for the bait to stabilize.
