atijigs
If you have not seen this yet you will. This little wire bend allows you to twist your hook on and off. It can be attached to your line instead of a snap swivel to allow easy bait changes with just a slight spin of your lure. A swivel can be attached to the eye side. One company is using it as an eye off of the jig head to allow easy hook changes. I make a double ended one to allow an easy way to get the hook further (yes, further from the jig head). Great terminal attachment. Edited March 21, 2012 by atijigs
Frank
With alll the arig stuff around it has been hard to get coast lock swivels so I have been making my own and they work just like this one in the picture. I can load my baits and never open the snap. Not the fastest thing to make but at least I can say all of my Ariggs are made in the USA. Vodkaman
I make something very similar to this and they work really well. I was having a lot of problems with line breaks at the knot, so I designed mine to take a whip knot, which seems a lot stronger. You cannot buy spade end connectors on quick releases for some reason. I was going to post mine in a few days time, but you beat me to it. Well done. Dave

atijigs
These were designed by musky fishermen. It allows them to swap out their heavy lures easily without having to retie every time. They are commercially available under the name of Fastach. I have been playing around with them on spoons and some different ice lures. Really handy for changing trebles on spoons and in place of a snap swivel; At least in the walleye world I predict you will see a change to longer hook shanks or separation of the hook to the head shortly. SmokeyJ
Breakaway Tackle makes a snapless connector operating on a similar principal but that looks to be a tad bit more weedless based on not having a wire-end sticking out to snag. They call them Fast Links (or Spin Links for the smaller size): There are a bunch of knockoffs as well. Not sure if this would be easy to bend up yourself, though. Griffond
what size wire is that made from? I haven't seen those yet around here... I just ask because I was going to make my own leaders from some of the stainless steel wire I got a little while back and that would be easy to bend up on one end and a ball bearing swivel on the other.
