jkustel
Hey guys, Looking at the stainless steel bulk wire used to make spinnerbait forms, etc. Can someone comment on whether the .062 diameter would be sufficient as hinge pins in joints on large swimbaits? I'm seeing vague ratings at 460lbs breaking strength? That seems like it would be sufficient but will the flex cause it to bend. Any comments or suggestions appreciated. RayburnGuy
Mark Poulson suggested the use of stainless bicycle spokes and I think he got the idea from Capt. Sully. I tried them and they work great. Find an old or wrecked bicycle and you can get enough spokes to build swimbaits until your eyes pop out. rapalaoutlet
I hear the same thing on the bike spokes.
Sonny.Barile
They are really stiff when you form them. Great for thru wire in a casting as you can be really consistent with forming.
Griffond
yeah I've used bike spokes when I was a kid to make spinnerbaits with, since the northerns in are lake were nasty tuff... I still have a bunch of spokes in a old tackles box i've been using for pass thru wire on musky baits
