MonteSS
So does anyone add heavy salt to their wutzit plastic? I poured some with my Stick formula and the action was great. It had the great erratic twitch action but fell faster like a stick on the pause. Caught my new PB with one today bringing it through emerging scattered lily pads in about 4-6' of water. ....Bill Edited March 28, 2012 by MonteSS

patrick reif
I'm a river smallie guy, so yes, I want the fluke to sink on a deadstick 10 months out of the year. The 2 months I want it on top are when the weeds are too thick to work it further down, but I throw it just past/right at the weed line. Right now, I want my fluke on the bottom with a slow lazy twitch as it drifts through every 4'-6' rock bed I can find. The advantage of a fluke is that it can be worked weightless on top, on the bottom, and anywhere in between within a 6' range depending on the salt/sand content. I do make a jointed fluke without salt for those two months when the weeds are high or the fish want something only on top. Honestly, right now, I just want a jig n pig or tube
squigster
I am pretty sure zoom has salt in their flukes. I use the salt in them because you get further casts in clear water because of the weight and it sinks better and darts better on the retrieve and it keeps it from nosing to the surface which you can still do anyway by simply lifting the rod tip. A slow fall like a senko works well too. IMO salt is the way to go but that's just my preference.
