sammy01007
So as my talent with an airbrush has not developed much over the last year, I have turned to something I am a little more confident at, digital media. I have been trying to create entire lure patterns from scratch using Gimp. I find the real challenge in the printing of the pattern. Because it is being printed on tissue paper, not high quality photo paper, color saturation, detail, and other aspects of the patter appear differently on screen than they do printed. I know a lot of you use photo finish on your lures. How many of you create these from scratch, rather than modifying a picture of a fish? Would anyone be interested in creating a digital media vault of graphics for the purpose of photo finishing, either of modified pictures of fish or of originals? I find creating these files is challenging in itself, and success probably varies greatly from printer to printer. If anyone has any tips, please share. The major thing I have found is reducing the transparency of the layers will greatly effect the saturation during printing.
