BobP
You can buy commercial lipless baits with different rattle sounds, silent ones, ones that float, suspend, shimmy when sinking, and ones that stand on their head when sitting on the bottom. I build baits to get SOMETHING different, and can't think of a feature I'd add to that mix. There's always "why the heck not?" and it's perfectly valid, but JMHO, I can't see reinventing this wheel unless you can do it better - or at least different. mark poulson
Aside from just trying to do it to see if I can, I make lures either to match those that I like, or to try to do something different for the fish to see. My shallow runners are supposed to give bass a different look than a spinnerbait in the same areas.

BobP, this falls in the "why the heck not?" file. My friend ask if I could could build a big speed trap, and I did. Two matter of fact; so build a rattle trap type bait "why the heck not!"
