Painter1
I searched and read the threads from last year on the Wacky Jig Mold and see that it looks like a challenge to make these jigs. But my question is; How do the jigs fish compared to the tungsten jigs that a major manufacturer makes? Is there any difference in how they wobble as they fall? I appreciatte you thoughts. cadman
Painter, I am confused by the word wobble. If you and I are speaking about the same Wacky Jig mold by Do-It, the jig has a round head with a single strand weedguard and a small EWG hook. Maybe you are referring to some other jig or are you referring to how the worm wobbles when it falls in the water column?????????
Painter1
The wobble I mentioned is the worm on the hook. Supposedly the Jackall head makes it do this. I am hoping the Do-It mold will make a jig that does the same thing.
Crymdawg
If you use the special Jackall works that are pre-bent and slightly wider at the ends you'll get the response that you are referring to. I can't imagine that the weighted material of the jig head makes that much of a difference. As you know, Tungsten being denser can be smaller than Lead, other than that issue I think that it's the worm that functions to make the wobble you are referring to. smalljaw
The Do-it mold works the same as any other, it is the worm that is the secret. A friend on mine was using a flick-shake hook and worm and he broke off, it was his last head and he began to panic so I go out a 1/0 EWG worm hook and crimped a water gremlin split shot to the top of the hook and he tied it on and was catching fish again, it was the same action until he lost his last worm. Oldfart9999
I really cheap out, I use a bullet weight peged abpout an 1/8 inch below the hook, same action, gives a hinge so the fish can't throw a heavier bait. Rodney
