Drakegunner
Poured some shiny new lead jigs and I was wondering if I used clear powder paint, If it would keep the metal from oxidizing or should I plan on using a chrome under coat? Basseducer
That should work as long as you are blocking the air from getting to it. You can even mix in a little colored paint to get a candy effect.
Drakegunner
That's what I was thinking. Can I mix regular opaque color to clear to get candy?
Basseducer
In small amounts it will tint the clear, but it will not be a true candy. I make a brown purple flake that uses 1 part brown and 4 parts clear and lots of flake. Brown is such a hard color to put flake into and still have it show especially purple because they are so similar. This mix really thins out the brown and lets the flake show through. However if you wand a darker brown you have to put on several coats. I spray my powder so it is easier to put on a couple very thin coats. Drakegunner
Any of you guys have any experience with adding pearls to paint?
Basseducer
You can add any color to white pearl and make a pearl of that color.
Drakegunner
I was thinking about the pearl additives that you see car painters adding
