Jacob's Injection Press

Recommended Posts

I have been toying with the idea of a two color press. I was supposed to have it done by now but got way to busy this winter. I actually have three of these now and will get a two color one done soon because I could really use it. Since I got the first one it has never broke down and the heating elemant works like a charm. The temp stays where I put it for hours on end. The two color one will not look like this one at all. I have a differant way of setting it up in my mind. One bad thing is if you want to change colors it does take awhile to cool. But you want to buy multiples so that may not be an issue. Frank

i would hold off a couple weeks just to see what Bear has up his sleeve here. here is a post from the other day on his forum.

"Patience is a Virtue with the 2 color Injection process. And The Reality is almost here. Within 3 weeks we will be debuting a new 2 color Injector that will make all of you go wow. All I will say at the moment is that it works with the presto pots and they do not require cleaning or stopping once you begin the injection process. Do not ask any more questions about them as I will not answer. But we be will once again Changing the way you make plastic baits. So get ready and get your money saved up. We are trying to get the price together now but if all goes according to plans they will be very affordable versus a bench top injection machine.

This is the most excited I have been about a product to date.!! It has the WOW Factor"

It was me, but what I did was adapt a blending block to work for hand-pouring duel colors by using two presto pots... This whole post is really starting to intrigue me... I have always been looking at the Jacob's press, but was never ready to buy one because it does NOT have the dual color capability... I have also always been intrigued by Bear's Bench Top Injection Machine, but I have been waiting to solidify my customer base before buying one because of the price... Hand injectors make nice looking baits, but the amount of scrap the injector's produce from the "plug" inside them as you inject is terrible!!! I am anxious for a product that the only scrap it produces is from the runners and the occasional bad bait...

Sounds like Bear is going to be "TIGHT LIPPED" on this one... To me, it also sounds like a dual color injection press... I would be VERY INTERESTED in buying one of these machines if it is what I think it is... I hope it can hold more plastic than the Jacob's press, eventhough I guess it wouldn't neccessarily matter... Three weeks is TO FAR AWAY ALREADY!!!

You can change the way you use the Twinjector so there is no plug. But then if you really believe you need a stirrer then this wont work. But it does for me. Frank

Cormerant,

are talking about the Jacobs or what bear is working on ??

this thread is for Jacobs .

maybe a new thread should be started for the new item @ bears ??

Oops... sorry! You do realize I was not the one who hijacked the thread in the first place... Seems like the original idea for this thread got switched up about 10 posts ago... :)

i mentioned it solely because someone mentioned multi-colour, currently from jacobs it is single colour only, and i saw the post on bears about a new 2 colour unit and figured i would post it.

Give it some time . I think every body is trying to get to first base with a new injection two color. Jacob's will pop up with something cool before its over . Right now he is up to his neck in orders .

we are already beyond first base with 2 colour machine, its getting refined, easier to use and simpler to make it more affordable from what i understand

Damn the Jacobs injection machine went up to $2,500! At one time it was $999. I should of bought two then. Does anyone know if this machine has had any improvements since to $999 days? I tried emailing Jacob twice without any reply.....

I have one of the original ones and two of the newer ones. The newer ones have alot more to them as far as heat type shielding. At 999 you had to buy the heat controller and temp guage. Since the first one there has been heating added to the side to help out with the warm up process. The carriage on the side has been upgraded. To me dont really know why since mine works fine without a problem. This is what i know from having them. Great machine and very well made. Frank

Hey guys,

good grief! $2500 what happened? What is the difference since the price increase? This blows my whole budget plan. Hmmm time to rethink. No news of the two color machine yet huh?,.. well. By the way who is Bear? and what is his machine like?
