mrbass
Has anyone ever put solid rings into a worm hook? I did not know if you can open up the eye gap on the hook or what. I want to make some jikarigs I dont like the idea of a split ring. I looked at gamakatsu ringed hooks but only come in 4/0 and 2/0. I like a 3/0 for fishn beaver baits. Those gamas are kinda pricey also. I have looked for a good by on solid rings too but not many options out there for those besides owner. mark poulson
I've seen hooks with solid rings, but I've never used one for fresh water. I typically rig my creatures with a Mustad Mega Bite EWG 5/0, and tie directly to the hook eye. Those hooks have enough of a bite to accommodate center rigging on a fat Ika, which helps increase my hookup ratio.

JSC
You can use "Butt Rings" but you will have to "Weld" the joint some way.

mark poulson
Owner has some really stout split rings that might work for you.
cadman
There are some split rings that are 3X strong. I know what the jika rigs are. I don't think you will have a problem with a split ring if you get the strong ones.
Basseducer
A few months ago I watched a tv show about making chainmail suits for shark diving. They had a small spotwelder to close the rings. This could be used with jump rings that you can buy or make rourself. There is a lot of info on this on you tube just search chainmail. I don't know how involved you want to get, but I can't imagine that a spotwelder that size can be too much.
ROWINGADUBAY
I don't think you will have any problems with a good quality split ring just check the lb rating before you buy
