danehc
Hi, Im sure this is on here somewhere, but i cant seem to find an answer. When I am pouring my plastics, I heat my plastic and add my glitter in right before the pour. As the plastic cools/hardens, my glitter always settles to the bottom. Whats the best way to keep this from happening? I only use a one sided mold so I cant keep the mold moving while the plastic is cooling. Thanks! danehc
PS I have tried letting the plastic cool a little prior to pouring, but Im still getting some settling. I am pouring bigger swimbaits as well. I do stir before every cavity pour also. I also use bigger glitter flakes, so I understand why its settling. Any advice? daveh
Stir then stir some more. That is all you can do.I will reheat after a few pours then stir. Edited June 1, 2012 by daveh
Bass-Boys
I think he wants to keep the glitter suspended in the bait , not the pyrex .??
danehc
Thats exactly what Im looking for 'Bass-Boys'.. Any ideas?
alsworms
If it's suspended in the pyrex, it should also be suspended when poured in the mold. As mentioned, the simple solution is just to stir more. When you think you have stirred enough, stir some more! Also make sure you are using a polyester coated glitter (those that are from suppliers like MF, Lure Craft, etc.). Some of the cheaper glitter will sink faster. jeff@mf
Maybe pouring your plastic cooler than 350/335 will help keep the glitter suspended a bit more for you? Or keep your molds cooler to set up quicker, just a thought. Jeff@mf Edited June 1, 2012 by jeff@mf

I only pour one pc RTV molds, why I use a presto pot with stir system with valve, definatly best method to pour one pc molds in my opinion. Richard Prager
What size glitter are you using? try smaller glitter If you are using a dark color bait, then you will see most of the flake on the bottom anyways.
