J lure
What's my options for molds for lead jigs and for pouring my own swim bait hooks and such. I'm looking for custom work. The only company I can find is Shawn Collins but having contacting issues. I know this isn't a soft plastic topic but you guys know you molds. Paxamus
High temp RTV silicone is good to 560 degrees . Molden lead exceesd that temp. True but I guess it is how quick it cools that makes ok. I had the same concerns when I started making them but each one is still good after hundreds of pours.
dj thrillz
I use AeroMarines AM160 rtv silicone for making my custom heads, It takes the heat no problem. But, Its on the stiff side. Its not too flexible, so its likely to tear at some point.
Maurizio
I do use RTV that is heat resistent up to 750-840°F (of course not permanently) and is made for lead molds. I don't know if there is a similar product in the US.
