J lure
What can be done to cover your assets and your original ideas? Of course I know patents and trade marks. Is there anything else that can be done until then? I seem to remember in a college class that you could have your ideas, drawings, prototypes and ect. And then package all of it then have it certified mailed to your self and that cover somewhat and keep all of it sealed until needed. I don't know if this is true or not though. redg8r
The "poor mans patent" (mailing docs to yourself) isn't worth your time, most here agree that it's more of an urban legend than a binding document. The best remedy without patents/trademarks is being able to meet demand. Most knockoffs come from original products that are either overpriced or in demand.......... price it fair and meet demand. wchilton
There's a nice little book on the topic called "Stand Alone Inventor" that I just finished reading a while back. He talks about patents, provisional patents, copyrights, and trademarks and how each/all can be worthwhile. ISBN-10: 0964383209 ISBN-13: 978-0964383203 Lots of good info. I thought it was worth the read.
