DJR
I was thinking about purchasing some molds from LinMar Fishing. They seem to have good prices on their molds and various Lurecraft products. I did a search, but didn't find any information about them. Does anyone have experience with the company? Thanks. http://www.linmarfishing.com/ Ron Edited June 29, 2012 by DJR
DaBehr
Yep...good open pour molds. Fast delivery. I really liked the "Beaver Type Bait" and the 4.5" Finesse Worm both are "easy" to pour...with little or no need to trim flash ....even for me! I am NOT good at open pour...and I have issues with the Brush hog mold (I can't pour within the lines!). The molds are a hard plastic and make a nice, sharp edged bait. I hope he come out with more molds!
alsworms
I noticed some of his molds on Ebay once, but they looked like uncured POP. Didn't know they were a hard plastic material. Cool idea. Wonder what the life is on his molds?
BBK
I just cant get past pouring plastic inside plastic and not having problems in the long run. I saw the beaver molds on ebay, wont be long until RI shuts that down. Those guys need to read up on patent infringement, last I looked they had a lot of molds of copied baits on ebay. toadfrog
Any type of resin or plastic will warp over time . If for some reason you ever think about puting one in the microwave with plastic in it DON"T . Nuff said They will be fine if you are not pouring hundreds of baits . DaBehr
I have not had any issues with the resin he used for the molds. There are plenty of high temperature resins that would work as a mold. I've probably poured 75+ baits with one of my molds and do not see any issues.
bryanmc
I saw on his eBay ad that you need to use some sort of release agent with his molds. Is this the case?
DaBehr
I sprayed mine with PAM when I first got them...but I haven't since. I personally like the sharp edges the mold gives the bait and the PAM gave the bait a strange texture. It doesn't seem to release the bait any worse than an aluminum open pour.
