Drying Rack?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a great day so far. I have a quick question. What do you all use as a "drying rack" after you dip your lures? I was trying to come up with something I could make myself, but was not having much success. I figured instead of frustrating myself, I would ask the experts. Thank you in advance for the info!

Hi everybody. When I wish to paint my softies and I have to wait the drying period, I hang the tails of shads between some long and narrow "windows" obtained with a sharp cutter on the side of a shoes' box. Sometimes I use this rack box as painting box for airbrushing. BUT, in my opinion, the best thing to do after the dipping, to cure plastic, is a simple splash in a tank of fresh water.

Bye

Dip toss method works for me . I did try somethin that had minamal sucess . I drilled an old mold placed some flat head rivets in it leaving the head of the rivet sticking out about .050 . inside the cavity where the eyes were to be located . Shot the mold and pulled the bait . It left something quite similar to an eye lid . Ithen put a speck of super glue in there and popped in the 3 D eye . Holds pretty darn good except if you have to squeeze the bait around the eye area to get it out of a fishes mouth . Good chance the eye will come out then . This occured to me because I have a prosthetic eye myself . If the wife gets me in a head lock over my spending sprees my eye can pop out too.

I am glad I asked this on here. Thank you for all of the great answers! I will just do what most recommended, dip and throw in water.

Toadfrog, I was using superglue to hold the eyes in place, but after a few weeks of sitting in the bags, the eyes were falling off. Sorry to hear about your prosthetic eye, but your comment is pretty darn funny!
