Saltfisher
Can someone email me the list? I'm going to add my recipes to it also and make a PDF. Schweitzershane@yahoo.com Thanks!!
AweStarCustomBaits
Hello everyone! I appreciate the comments that everyone has given me on this. I have sent out all of the requests today from my email. I am sorry to inform you that I will not send out any more. I am getting hundreds of requests, and alot from the same people, although I do not understand why. It's taking up alot of time to copy and paste this many. To everyone out there that I sent it to, you may post on here to send it to someone else who may want it, Pay it forward so to speak. With my business thriving and me updating my personal recipes daily, I do not have the time to send out to everyone any more. I am sure I have sent it to everyone who really wanted it by now. Thanks! EdL
Hey Greg - I understand your situation. And mucho thanks for putting the spreadsheet out there. I wonder why the Plastics Cookbook on TU doesn't have a downloadable version at this point. So when a new recipe is uploaded anyone that is a member could just download the new page. Your gracious support of creating and sharing the fruits of your labor is much appreciated. But it can be a full time activity to send everyone a copy. I got one from you and I tried to make an index page in excel to be able to go directly to the recipe but didn't figure it out. So I did one in MS Word but dealing with links and so on made it a pain in the behind. At some point it cuts into makin, pourin and usin 'em. Saltfisher
I never got a copy. Can someone kindly send one my way? I have about 100 recipes I want to add and put into a PDF. Schweitzershane@yahoo.com Thanks
finesse1331
I just sent you a copy Salt, hopefully it works I'm not the smartest when it comes to computer stuff.
Saltfisher
Yeah it worked!! Thanks!! I will add everything I have from my list, and other sites and figure out a way to host it so people can just download it when they please.... then add there recipes, and keep updating. Maybe we can get a forum support on this, and only add the recipes that are proven. Any mods, or admins here know if we can host it here on this forum? Maybe a sticky for the list when I have it finished? I do like the table of contents, and going to try and keep it when I combine everything. Eventually im going to sit down this winter and make everything on the list and take a picture of the color. Any guys here interested in picking out a thing or two on this list and making it, then snapping a quality photo? Would save alot of time for one person to sit down and make 200 different colors. lol. Im game for as many as I can do.
Saltfisher
I have another idea... When a new proven recipe is posted... if its approved, a admin/mod can add it to the list/spreadsheet/PDF/whatever. That will be readily available for download for all members, but only higher ups can add to it (password protected). That way people are not just adding anything and everything.
finesse1331
That sounds like a great idea Salt. I would be able to make some of the colors and post pictures, I can't make too many cause I just got laid off so now my plastic has to last a little longer until I find a new job. I could downsize the recipe just for picture purposes, if a recipe calls for 4 ounces and 20 drops I can 2 ounces and 10 drops and so on. I also like the idea of only mods or higher ups can add them, let's get this book rolling.
Saltfisher
Im already working on it while I watch big bang theory. It should be done within theweekend
higgins2k
Hi y'all! Any one cares to sent "the plastic bible" to a beginner? I've got my hands on some plastisol and colors, but I'm quite stumped at all the possibilites/things you can get from it. Would love to have some guidance before I start pouring... address: higgins2k(at)hotmail(dot)com Thanks in advance! //Fredrik (Higgins2k)
EdL
There is no plastics 'bible' talked about in this thread but just a recipe book or listing of colors/formulas. Try going to the pinned Soft Plastic Cookbook at the top of the "Soft Plastics" section of this forum. There 10 web pages full of receipes and some hints to start out with. Some guys are just gathering up recipes and putting them in an electronic spreadsheet or word document and making it available to others so you don't have to log on and search the on-line cookbook for a receipe. Looks like Saltfisher is trying to step up on compiling the recipe book with some color photos. Good luck Saltfisher. Quite a chore your taking on. Be careful or it will cut into your pouring time and using the baits time.
Saltfisher
LOL. Took me a few hours, but looks like the complete recipe list (as of now) is done. I did not do a table of contents as everything is in alphabetical order. Can anyone out there take this and share it online? I can send it out to whoever, but if I get swamped with emails it may be tough. It's also printer ready. It's 19 pages long and have it in a plastic insert binder. Schweitzershane@yahoo.com is my email

Saltfisher
Oh and the black gold (cutters recipe) is my own I made. Seem to be catching fish when others don't in muddy/stained water. It's a simple yet very effective recipe.
Saltfisher
Just tried to click in the links and they didn't work. Is the link broken? Or just because I'm on my iPhone?
EdL
Nope not I-phone issue. Just tried it on my laptop and the link isn't working for me either.
Arai
arai@austin.rr.com if anyone has a moment I'd like a copy as well. I'm just getting into pouringt my own baits and this would be very helpful. Thank You Edited August 31, 2012 by Arai
getthenet20
Does this book cost $? If there is no cost, could someone please email me a copy of the microsoft excel document or the recipes that you are using? I am trying to put something like this together myself. This is a great idea! Here is my email: hoops5basketball@gmail.com Edited September 2, 2012 by getthenet20
redg8r
To those of you asking to have it hosted here: The forum allows for .pdf and .doc attachments.... simply upload to this topic or the earlier existing cookbook topic. There is a filesize restriction of a few MB per upload but let me know who is compiling the file and I'll increase their quota.
Smallie
I have another idea... When a new proven recipe is posted... if its approved, a admin/mod can add it to the list/spreadsheet/PDF/whatever. That will be readily available for download for all members, but only higher ups can add to it (password protected). That way people are not just adding anything and everything. That is a great idea. The existing sticky started off with people posting recipes and then it evolved into requests for colors and other comments such as nice job or I love that color. Now there are a lot of posts that not recipes. Of course the moderators would have to agree to taking on the task.
EdL
OK you cookbook hounds, I put my copy of Saltfisher's cookbook in the pinned Soft Plastics Cookbook thread. Thanks Redg8r for the OK. File size is small so not increase in upload size needed.
