dlaery
I have a variable speed dremel. I have had this for several years. I need another one and I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on using a flex shaft with the dremel? Does it turn smooth?
Basseducer
David, I have been using the flexshaft fot years now and I really like it. It is sooo much easier to manuver than the machine itself. Yes it is smooth. I use the small sanding drum with med to fine grit paper to clean up the spru scars on most of my baits.
dlaery
Thanks TJ. It looks like it would work good. I had looked at a 1/8" micro air grinder from Harber Freight but some of the reviews said it didn't run true. One of the things we use it for is drilling out eyelets that have powder paint in them and every time I need it someone else is using it. Musky Glenn
I have two and one of them is the cordless type, nice for light work. Battery last good on a charge. Musky Glenn
dlaery
Thanks, I wondered about the cordless. I was looking for something not quite so bulky.
smalljaw
Check Northern Tool, I got their brand dremel tool and it came in a kit, it is a variable speed that you can adjust as it is running, it came with 20 different bits as well as a few mandrels and cut off wheels and the best was the flex shaft!! It has a stand and I put the tool in this stand that c-clamps to my work bench and use the shaft by holding like a pen, it is amazing, the amazing part of what I have is I got all of that in a case for less than 30 dollars, that was 6 years ago but it is still working like a champ, I think their brand is a lot better than dremel to be honest.
