Purple Glitter

Recommended Posts

I have purchased glitter from several different suppliers. But no matter what, I always have problems, like mostly disappearing in the plastic, mostly. I have read several posts about bleeding, but don't really notice that, all that much. Iv'e been trying to make some finesse worms in watermelon candy color, and can't get the purple to stand out in the worms. I usually pour at 330 degrees plus, but have tried to stay closer to 300,but still having the same trouble.

I have read about everything posted about this problem with purple glitter, but does anyone else have anything to add,,I could try?

I add the glitter on the first pour, when it has been brought up to temperature, and that works pretty well, but when I reheat, that's when The trouble starts.

Lure works has one of the best purple flake out there. What type of bait are you making and what size flake are you using? Some shapes just take more flake than others. I've never had any bleeding or fading problems with Lure works purple, but there are some shapes that I do that take more flake than others even though they both basicaly take the same amount of plastic. I did notice that you said you were doing a finese worm, if it has alot of ridges it will take more flake then a slick bodied worm. Also, try lightening up on your watermellon color, the more translucent the better the flake will show.

Thanks for the responce,I have just been adding more flske, as someone mentioned, but still not to my lacking, probably not adding enough at one time. I made a mold simular to the Berkley shakey head worm, and I love there watermelon candy. As of yet,I still have not made one that is close enough to suit me. Iv'e come up with some good looking worms, but not the color of theres.I have been using 035 size flake, maybe I should try larger.

Thanks for alll your help. If I ever get it right,I will post a picture,if I can figure out how.
