RayburnGuy
That would really depend on what lake your fishing Toadfrog. Falcon is known for big fish, but a swimbait is not one of the more popular lures because of water clarity. Amistad is on the Rio Grande just like Falcon, but the water on Amistad is gin clear and they catch a lot of big fish on swimbaits there. It really depends on what lake your fishing and the size of the fish in the lake since bigger fish are more apt to eat a large swimbait. At Falcon they catch a lot of big fish on big plastic worms. We fish the Zoom Old Monster a lot down there. Red Bug and Watermelon/Red work well for me. Black/red flake is another color I like really well. It fooled a 9 lb. 14 oz. for me last time I was there. It was in a 7" ring worm. I always here about them fishing the magnum fluke in watermelon/red at Falcon a lot, but I've never tried it. The technique I always here about with the big fluke is slowly dragging it on the bottom. I just don't have the patience to fish that slow anymore. Wish I could be of more help. Tree_Fish
Any large plastics in watermelon red ought to get him bit! Tell him to go check out this website, www.texasfishingforum.com. In the bass fishing section there are Falcon threads almost every day and there are several guides that post there that would be willing to give him some advice. I hear about big plastics, football jigs and 6xd's the most Edited August 2, 2012 by Tree_Fish
