Bass4Me
I was wondering if a marinade injector can be used to inject hot plastic into a handmade plaster mold? It isn't all metal. The tube is plastic and made for injecting turkeys and only about 8-9 inches long.
toadfrog
Won't use something like that much more than once . It will eventually collapse . It is better if you just keep an eye out in the classifieds here . 40 bucks will probably get you one eventually . The medical bills for plastic burns are going to cost you a lot more . Just ask Carolina Mike and he is a professional . One goof can get Ya .

Do yourself a big favor and for the sake of your eyes, face ,arms and hands- buy you baits. It's much cheaper and safer.
Bass4Me
Thanks for the replys from everyone. I figured you would tell me it's unsafe. I'll wait to find one cheaper or just buy it full price. I only need it to try my verson of hand made 2 piece molds with 2 colors, 1 for the body and a second for tails. Jig Man
I have some that I make from catheter injectors which I buy from my vet. I cut the end off and epoxy in a small brass tube and a compression fitting. I can get several injections from them but when they start to discolor I trash them because they are close to coming apart.
mark poulson
I've used the Cabela's meat injector for years and it's holding up fine. It's all chrome plated brass, so it is strong and durable, but I do wear gloves when I inject, because it gets hot fast. Mine came with a replacement O ring, but I am still using the original. I just spray the inside of the injector with PAM before I use it each time. I cut down the needle to about 1/4" long. Here's what I use, in the 4 oz. model: http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-Commercial-Marinade-Injectors/728895.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Dmeat%2Binjector%26x%3D20%26y%3D4%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts&Ntt=meat+injector&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products
