tbrinlee
I am currently using a Eagle Claw 635 (3/0-7/0) hook and am looking for a longer shank. Anyone have an Idea? Tony

sdsaw
Just thinking out loud... How about placing the hook eye back in the body which would make for a longer shank and use a brass sinker eye for the line tie I think this is how the big leadheads are made
tbrinlee
Nice idea. I have used spinner wire and a straight shank to build my own but it is hard keeping the hook/wire all alligned correctly in the mold while trying to poor the lead. Oh well... I was just hoping someone had another option. Thanks again. Tony
Tony Maxwell
If you crimp the end loop of the wire thru the hook eye, then put tape along the hook shank slot in the mold to hold the hook in place, and maybe some tape in the wire slot, all should stay aligned. I have been using this method for many years. Good luck. Tony Edited August 24, 2012 by Tony Maxwell
