J lure
Any know of a supplier for plastic hook keepers or have a good way to make them? I don't want the "screw" type. I have just been bending wire in order to make them just wanted to see if there was a bulk supplier or a easier more consistent way.
Richard Prager
I could be wrong, but I think all it is is shrink wrap.
J lure
Shrink wrap? I was talking about the hook keepers that mister twister and mustad have in their swim bait hooks. Edited August 22, 2012 by J lure
Richard Prager
You never mentioned swimbaits, Mister Twister or Mustad. You said plastic, easy and not screw type. This is what came to mind...............shrink wrap.
J lure
Yea, my bad. I put the ass in assume. Yea that style won't for me, I need something that I can make the hook weed less. Thanks though.
Richard Prager
No problem. Why don't you like the screw type in stainless steel........other than being a pain in the butt to put in? J lure
They are too large and yes I've tried all three sizes small, medium, and large. Also they are a pain in the but to put in. They "needle size" is a one size fits everything and easier to hide an attach to soft plastics.
Cami
Hi, have you ever tried with forelocks, with 2 edges plied at 45° to hook the soft bait? They are easy to realize and use, cheap and they work great, but you'll ruin the nose of bait after few applications. Personally, I prefer to cut some different Øs of springs to be applied to 60° hooks (the best ones as swimbait hooks). Bye. Cami

Cami
Hi J, here you are a picture of this simple idea, but I think that a pc. of spring is better. Bye. Cami

Cami
Bob, I used forelocks very few times because I prefer to use pcs. of a pen's spring or create the Owner's center pins with Ø0.6 mm metal wire. You're surely right about the in line eye of hook ... couldn't you say me before? The parallel eye hook cost less ... Do you think that also with the spring way it could be better to the parallel ones? I bought all perpendicular ones. Bye. Cami
