squigster
Hi Guys, One of my friends asked me to make him dual colored tubes and I am having a bit of a problem. He wants red as the base color and green pumpkin as the main color but I cannot get a bright red color to show up for the base. I have a few reds from bears, dels and lure craft but they all turn out iridescent and the green pumpkin almost makes the red color look almost look like pumpkin seed. I added over 200 drops of different reds to 1 cup of plastic and the green pumpkin still changes the color of the red somehow. I am dipping the second color after the first color has cooled. Is there something particular you have to do to get a solid color to be bright and not irredescent and show up as the color you intended since the plastic is so thin? If it was a worm or something thicker you wouldnt probably notice it but the tube is thin even though the red is double dipped . Any help would be a appreciated. Thanks, Jim
crappieday
you may have to dip in white, then dip your color over that
Frank
Red is a tough one but I would try white pearl to give you a back up color to see the red. I have alot of reds and the most opague is Spike its blood red but still add white pearl to make it pop.Frank

carolinamike
Have you tried flourescent red yet? It's an opaque color. Keep in mind with flourescent colors you can't add them to hot plastic. The trick is to add some coloring to a little bit of unheated plastisol. You can add this to already heated plastic and it will incorporate just fine.
