Cleaning Injection Press

Recommended Posts

This might sound ridiculous to some but I have an automotive backround so it makes sense to me...

Carburetor Cleaner works fast and is very effective. Switch the O-Rings in the slider and the one on the bottom of the machine, in between the machine and the slider to VITON. Viton is more durable in general but it's chemical resistant, so if some carb spray hits it you'll be fine.

The other thing to keep in mind with that machine though, and this will cut down on cleaning it...Use similar colors back to back and you don't need to clean in between batches. Or use your dark colors after light colors. Heat the next color in the microwave and fill the machine back up. This way you don't have to cool it down to clean and start all over. This only works if you can work fast and keep the machine hot, if you work slow there will be residue on the sides from the plastic sitting, then you'll have to cool it down and clean it.

Another tip about cleaning is to take the slider apart when the machine is still HOT, this way it won't get gummed up and stuck once it cools down.
