barrysbaits
I got this kit at a yard sale. The soft plastic tails are removable and replacable. I was wondering if any of you guys have ever seen a mold like this. I really hope my attachments are viewable this time.
basskat
I haven't seen those in years. I'd make a mold>
barrysbaits
It looks like I'll have to make a mold. They were made by berkley. When I do not know. There pretty neat baits .
Romeo D
I have a few of those from berkeley somewhere. They were in a clearance bin and i fell for it...LOL I dont think a mold would be to difficult to make. You might get lucky and find a swimbait mold from one of the vendors that might work if you cut the bait to fit onto your lure. You might even get a different action out of it if you get a paddle tail version. I know Basstackle has some shad shaped molds that might work well for this project. Bassinfool
This was my grandfather's "secret lure" haha! It's a pretty cool lure actually and for when they started making it in the early 90's it was a pretty big deal because no one had every seen anything like that before. I have toyed with the idea of trying to carve up one of my big swimbaits and fit the tail to the slot but I haven't actually done it yet. Very cool to see someone else who has this lure. I think I have 3 or so that I got from my grandfather shortly before he passed away in August.
Bass4Me
There are also crankbait versions like this. I still have the one I found back in the late 80's / early 90's.
mark poulson
How do the tails attach?
Bassinfool
They just slide into a little notch at the back of the bait.
mark poulson
They just slide into a little notch at the back of the bait. Are they glued in, or are there wires inside that anchor the tails, or thru pins?
Bassinfool
There isn't anything really holding it in place other than the notch you slide the tail into. If you wanted to drop a small bit of super glue into it to give a little added security I'm sure you could.
