andrewg07 Posted September 18, 2012 Report Share Posted September 18, 2012 So I feel dumb for asking these questions but I have never messed with plastics before and am a little overwhelmed by all of the options out there. First, I really like the molds on caney creek, but I realize that I need an injector. My questions are these: 1- will a bass tackle injector work with caney creek molds? 2- if I were to get two injectors from bass tackle could I buy the color blending block to make it into a twin injector for laminates? 3- does bass tackle sell any laminates? 4- is a laminate what makes you able to put two separate colors into a bait- ie on a craw the body is brown but the claws are red. Driftwood Posted September 19, 2012 Report Share Posted September 19, 2012 I don't think the basstackle injectors will work with the caney creek molds. If you buy the 2 injectors from bass tackle, the blending block is included, most if not all of the injected molds from all the mold makers can be shot as a laminate bait, and a laminate is 1/2 of each side of the bait is a diferent color. To get the claws a different color, you need a mold with a gate to shoot the 2nd color to the oposite end of the bait. You could just buy two injectors and the blending block to make laminates, but it would be extremely hard to manipulate both injectors the plungers and holing the blending block and to make it easier you would want the divider and bar to hold both plungers in place so you get even pressure. I'm not sure if Basstackle sells laminating plates, but when I want different color claws I just inject the whole mold and cut the claws of and then put the claws back in the mold and shoot the secondary color. Frank Posted September 19, 2012 Report Share Posted September 19, 2012 Yes the Basstackle injectors will fit Caney creeks molds. I think everybody is pretty much on the same page as far as injectors go. I also know that if you want a two color laminate injector from Caney creek, he still recomends the Twinjector from Basstackle. It will give you a side by side laminate and all molds DO NOT laminate correctly especially a swim bait. You will have to get a mold that will allow you to laminate from top to bottom and not side to side. If you buy a Twinjector you will have two injectors to use individually or as a pair to give you what you want. If you buy them seperatly he does not sell the parts to join the two like the Twinjector. Each one is built as a unit to ensure a good fit. Not the injectors but the unit. Have fun with this, it may seem overwhelming at first but once you get going it will be alot easier. I have some videos in the tutorial section that show some of the uses.
