Silo1688
Hey everyone I was loading different video on water putty molds and this person was using women's eye shadow and mica powder! I never though of this. I looked on amazon and the eye shadow seems pretty dang cheap (not the powder micca...that's expensive) compared to what is offered at the DIY bait sites. Has anyone has every tried this?
MonteSS
I have tried it. It is basically pearl powder. Pearl powder is not a hilite. It basically does the same as liquid coloring but with a little pearl in it. The amount you get is rediculously small compared to the ounce or two you get at LC etc. I have used automotive pearls with similar results. I even tried the flip flop (chameleon) colors and they dont change colors. http://www.golfcoursegurus.com/reviews/gozzerranch.php ....Bill

MonteSS
Woops http://www.custompaintingpearls.com/ BTW Pearl powder changes the color of the plastic. Hilites add a colored "skin" to the outside of the bait. Purple plastic with green hilite ....Bill Edited September 25, 2012 by MonteSS
mark poulson
Bill, Do Hilites migrate to the outside of the bait when they're poured, or is it just a sheen, and the Hilite is distributed throughout the whole bait, not just on the outside? Silo1688
that bait looks sick!. I'm going to try to pour a green pumpkin bait, blue hi-lite, bit of large black flake and a tiny bit of medium orange or rust flake. We'll soon see. Duane's Custom Baits
I use a little of the blue hi-lite in my Smokin Pepper (aka Salt & Pepper) it's a killer. I use 1/2 of a 1/8 tsp to 2 cups of plastic and 4 drops (LC) black mixed well comes out killer looking
