tbrinlee
Got a good deal (or maybe not so good) on some hooks. They are tarnished after powder coat. I thought maybe I baked them too long but I ran another batch yesterday and they came out tarnished. 350 degree preheat then powder coat then a 350 degree 25 minute bake. Did I blow it or did I get some bad hooks. Tony
atijigs
Are you painting jigs or just the hooks?
andy1976
Maybe try taking the lure out of the mold hot, twist or cut the sprue, then smack the sprue area with a hammer, and quickly dip it in your fluid bed.
cadman
Hard to answer this question. Are the hooks bronze? If so and they have been sitting in damp conditions could be surface rust. Are you saying they change color when you bake the jig?????????
tbrinlee
They look to be nickel plated. It is a silicon mold and they look OK coming out of the mold. Cadman... yes. they change color coming out of the oven. Tony
