1/3 & 2/3 Technique

For what reason? Laminates are not good or effective enough?

I don't know about you, but for me the enjoyment of this hobby is to make things that are different and try them. I want to make a bait with a dominant color (2/3) and an underbelly (1/3) accent color. I think it will more closely "match the hatch" where I fish.

I already have the injection molds, but don't know how to get a consistent unbalanced laminate. Ideas and experiences welcome.

The reason does not matter to me, But I did work with it at one time. It did work ok but had more to do with the mold.I used a smaller diameter injector on one side to see if it would make a back color thinner and like I said it worked for me but did not make as much a differance as I though it would. I also tried three injectors with a small one in the middle to make a vein but did not show well. Being you have a system that does not promote change you may want to try and block off part of one side and see if that works. Frank

1-What type,# of cavities and manufacture/name of the mold?

2-Is this a single cavity mold in a vertcal or horizontal position?

3-Is there a hook slot plate in the mold?

only way i see it working with a twinjector is if u have one injectors bigger than the other and im not talking about the nozzle ....cuz if you only have different nozzles you are still pressing in as much material as before just one is coming out easier than the other ....managing to press independently each injector at different speeds... i could be wrong but its my theory

Dad gum it.

They looked good out of the mold, but after reading Franks' post I checked them out. They have been in a bag with worm oil for a few days and at least one of them has delaminated. A guy might be able to do more damage if picking at them. I will play with some higher temps on the initial pour and let y'all know. (I don't know if we are yankees or southerners here in Missouri - but we do say y'all from time to time;).
