Frank
Now that you have it what kind of numbers are you talking about and what waste is not there. I am still on the fence about this. Not sure what kinda numbers you were getting with the Twinjector. I guess it would matter what bait you are making also. The only waste I get is from the sprue. Single cavity molds are the biggest waste there is but it is still there with any system used. Frank
andy1976
Thanks my guess is it will be a great time saver if you have enough molds to justify it. I'm still on the edge too one of my concerns is that I'm doing swimbaits and the second color is just about a quarter inch on the top. I don't need a fifty fifty laminate. LIARS CORNER
i make small crappie baits so the molds i am using makes 12 at a time. the waste comes in when you have bad cast. i was using the bass tackle twinjector (don't get me wrong its a great piece of equipment and i plan to keep mine for small batches) and i was not that good with it and if everything was not exactly right i would have a lot of baits swirl or be one color. i know it was a operator error because once i got everything set it would cast great. well this unit is much more forgiving and i feel i can get it set quicker sooo fewer bad cast = less waste as far as faster i cant give you a B.P.M. (baits per minute) but this is what i do know, before after work i would be lucky to shoot 20 to 30 packs before it would get so late i would have to close up shop (like i said im not very good with the bass tackle twinjector) now in the same amount of time (4 hours, this time also includes set up and getting the plastic hot) i can shoot 40 to 50 packs of jigs and if i had 2 more molds it would be even higher, lack of molds is slowing me down now .... lol i done 40 packs of jigs a 50 swimbaits in the same time and was not trying that hard since i didn't have to clean the injector after each shot like before i had a lot of idal time so i fired up another pot and shot swim baits while i was waiting for the jig mold to cool a little i dont want people thinking i am bashing the bass tackle injectors ..... im NOT they are great, im glad i bought it and if you are making baits for you and your friends only and want to shoot laminates i would buy it ASAP but i needed to put out a lot of baits fast so this is to path i took
LIARS CORNER
yes it does i will keep using that for my solid colors
Frank
Thanks for the honesty. I have to admit small bait molds are more difficult to shoot. That being said if you find it easier to use the Bears system how much plastic are you mixing? At this time I dont have to clean out the Twinjector I just leave it in the pots. Maybe that is why I am asking. I guess I dont see an advantage to this system. I only clean out the block but it cleans faster than a single cavity mold. I can shoot about 150 baits an hour in single cavity molds. I really dont think it can get any faster as the whole time I am busy opening or shooting baits. But maybe someday. Thanks Again.
