willowblade
The Poison Tail Jig Mold in the 3/8 size will take a 5/0 hook. The hook that it will take is the Mustad 91768 BLN.
RAWJigs
Yeah, 3/8 and up with accept a 5/0. I tried a 4/0 with a 1/4 but that didn't work to well lol.
cmayes
I like the looks of that jighead, I think that will probably be my next mold purchase.
RAWJigs
I sell more 1/4 and 3/8. Most of my customers use them as swim jigs.
irishbass
It's a good multi-purpose jig. Swims well. Good pitched in weeds and wood. Very good hookup %. I've settled on the 3/0 for the 1/4 oz. and 4/0 for the 3/8. The 1/2, 5/8 and 3/4 make nice grass jigs. The hook can straighten with braid though. If you are using them for swimming, try using the 32724. They swim upright 100% of the time with this hook and its easier to thread your trailer on straight. irishbass
The 5/0 32724 works great for both the 1/4 and 3/8 oz.
cmayes
Do you all bother with eyes on your poison tails? Do you all prefer to paint them or buy the stick ons? I've been checking out the craft sections looking for suitable eyes.
Oldfart9999
I use the 3D eyes from Jann's, I some times use the stick ons. Frankly, I think the eyes tend to be more for the fisherman, but then again, I use them. Rodney

I've never used eyes on any of the jigs I make, but, one of my buddies always paints eyes on his. I guess we all have differnent things that give us more confidence.
