Paulforpaws
Not a flattering review. Sorry my first post is a negative one. Hoping to save others from the same disappointment. After about 40 years of being a Spike-it Dye fan, average about $60 per year, I am unimpressed with their line of Crankbait paints, Blue Chunk paint and customer service... The Crankbait paint leaves a lot to be desired. This paint dries out as you're brushing it on. No time to even dip the brush a second time, because during the first stroke the paint is already drying and clumping. Save your money! The Blue chunk paint is a true Purple, not Blue. Once again Save your money! After a month of waiting for a refund, and or, the products they promised in replacement, I've given up on them. BobP
Sounds to me like their paint is intended to be used like their worm dyes.... ie, something you would use on the water to instantly doctor a crankbait - not something you would want to use to paint crankbaits as a hobbiest. carolinamike
Paulforpaws, sounds like you bought the plastic paint made for soft plastic lures such as fishing worms so there is really nothing wrong with the product, just the application. They make a retarder that keeps the paint from drying so fast, for people using an airbrush its a must have. I have dealt with these folks for years and they are very helpful, when you call them dial extension 106 you'll probably have to leave Bruce a message but tell hm the problem you are having and ask him for help solving it and you should get the results you are looking for, next time be sure and tell them what youre wanting to paint and im sure they will point you in the right direction.
