A-Mac
awesome vid. There will always be haters when you win, and even more when you dominate! However, as long as you keep one step ahead of these "good ol boys" you should keep winning. Hey, when all of your tackle box is banned, you will have to figure out a way to deter fish from their lure!
jigginpig
Dave- Wonderful video. Thanks for doing that. If that really is a pacu that you are catching, they are South American fish that inhabit the rain forests. In the annual floods they spread out into the forest, and eat fruit, seeds, and nuts that splash into the water. I would think that all you would need to do would be to repeatedly cast anything at all into the water, aiming to get the "splash" effect. A popping cork might be good too, you could make a popper with a line-through feature and use a bobber stop BEHIND the float instead of in front of it. That way, whatever you use will actually still sink if you let the float rest, and get you around the "must sink" rule. Make a jig mold from a porous, gas permeable very fine mesh and mold banana flavored goop into it, then put the entire mold into a food dehydrator. Dress the jig with whatever fur or feathers, and lob it out there under your popping float. Pretty sure you would win, again. By the way, I had the same idea for my crankbait holders on my lure turner, slotted rod with a set screw. Beats the heck out of buying umpteen hobby knives at four bucks a pop. You are the man Dave! tmrivest
On my iPad the video link isn't working? What's the video titled so I can try and find it on youtube? Thanks
tmrivest
Nevermind, I got it on the regular computer. Must be an iPad thing. Thanks
Vodkaman
Jigginpig - Thanks for all the ideas. Bobbers or anything that floats on the line are not allowed. Not to worry, my next bait is already designed in my head. The material will be agar-agar, a water based jelly that can be molded and re-heated. I have tried making a lure with this in the past, on another TU project. There are drawbacks, but I can design around those. Glad you enjoyed the vid. EdL
For reference to Apple products users out there - Apple does NOT let you view videos in Adobe Flash format. (Apple and Adobe won't play nice with each other) So try to find the video on you-tube or a PC or something other than an apple. There may be 3rd party apps out there but I am not aware of one that will work on ipad, iphone. Suggest if user wants to share a video put a link in the post to you-tube or some other file share place.
