Jdeee
For Musky baits what type lead is used. Do you pour your own or is there a pre made type of weight. I am not a big fan of melting lead especially since the temp here is around - 10 to -20 for the next couple of months!
RayburnGuy
I don't build musky baits, but have used 1/4" lead wire from McMaster-Carr on my deeper crankbaits for bass. I think it comes in 20' and 100' rolls. Here's the link if you want to check it out. Ben http://www.mcmaster.com/#lead-wire/=krrm66
chumdawg
I melt mine from old wheel weights, but alot of people epoxy egg sinkers in for weighting baits
CedarLakeMusky
I was using egg sinkers now I use water gremlin pencil lead wire. It is 1/4 inch diameter and I get it at fleet farm. CLM
bassguy
I use the egg sinkers and run the hook hanger through the sinker and epoxy to the bait. Cap off with two part epoxy paste and sand to finish. Jerry
Jdeee
Thanks guys I like Jerry's suggestion. Kinda solves a second problem of how to make a good attachment for the belly hook and then i can just make the tail hook the wire threw which is easy.
