ROWINGADUBAY
Over the holidays I noticed my five year old niece playing with some modelling wax made by a company named stockmar or close to that. So I asked to look at what she was doing and she gave me a piece, and this stuff was awesome easy to mold into shapes with your bare hands.I instantly thought of lure making and making masters. I did some searching on the web and found a recipe for modeling wax using beeswax lanolin and olive oil it worked out OK but not as smooth as the stockmar stuff. I was wondering if anyone has ever made any masters out of wax or if anyone has made a modeling wax to use for making masters? I would like it to be moldable with the heat of my hand to get the rough shape and be able to use some small tools to put in details to finish it off. I guess my main question is what can you add to beeswax or parafin wax to make it moldable by hand? Thanks George
EdL
Try googling the internet with "modeling beeswax". The search function is an amazing friend. But be careful sometimes even friends can steer you wrong. Just look at the information and decide for yourself if it is true or poo.
