Little man baits
Ok guys another plastic question and I would like to know if any of u have used alumisol for your soft plastics. I have found a supplier here in Canada that I can get this stuff from and would safe me a ton of shipping costs. Just want to know your thoughts. Thanks again. This site is sooo helpful. Anglinarcher
Yes, I use it a lot. I like super soft baits most of the time, so I mix about 1 part softner for every 4 parts regular. Like any soft plastic, it benefits from the heat stabilizer when you re-melt/re-cycle. Like any of the Plastisols, shake before use. Not that I am a hobbiest, not a production guy, so I can't tell you how it works in production injection machines.
Saltfisher
I seen it cheap on ebay and was thinking of trying it. I use M-F super soft for my senkos and worms and it works awesome!! One day I will try alumisol.

Little man baits
My specific question is have u used this product for making soft plastics and how does it compare to others like Calhoun etc. thanks for your help Steve
TroutSupport.com
I have used it in a hand pour and injeaction. I havent used calhoon...but i have used bear, MF, and spikeit. Hmm... i would say it's not as soft...but then again i used it with its hardner to try to get a stiff bait... it worked pretty good with that... as far as boyancy... it's soooo really close... and then it's so close that any amount of difference in glitter that you might put in it it'll be close to the others on boyancy but it might be just a little lighter.. Little man baits
That's great info. Trout thanks a lot. As for the bouyency I can correct for those issues. As my main concern was that can be used for soft plastic production I use salt color glitter like all the rest. And I have used bears as well so for the alumisol if its a med or hard then I can just add softener There is a place not to far from me here in Ontario that I can access this stuff. This way I don't have to have it shipped from the states cause It gets expensive with shipping and customs charges

bflp
I have only used Alumisol and MF so far. I found the Alumisol seems to smell less while cooking, but the finished baits seem to smell more when compared to MF. I can't really comment on softness because I was using Super Soft MF. There's nothing wrong with alumisol, I made some nice stick baits with it.
