vishezfish
Man I am so excited, I caught 6 more bass on my own soft plastics!! I read on this site that it is a rush to cath em on your own lures, but wow!!! The funny thing is it was the first plastic bait I made, it was a one part mold of my own design, nothing fancy, and it's working... You guys are not kiddin!! I am addicted!! Big Splash
It's a great hobby- and has become a part time business for me... Thanks to the guys here at TU. When I started out in the luremaking trade, I never knew plastics would make up such an important part of my business. I knew they would take up a large tackle box or two in my boat! Fish_N_Fool
I agree vishezfish, It great to get fish on your own design of bait. I went out yesterday to try out my SUPER sized soft jerkbait I make and hopefullt catch some Pike. The Jerk bait I was using was a large version (10") of my Sink-N-Fool in a baby bass color. Here is a differant colored one. I went to a new lake that has L.M.Bass, Pike, and some Muskies too I hear Anyway, On my second cast of the day I got a hit!!! I thought wow the Pike fishing is going to be great today. As it turned out my Pike turned into a 6 lb. L.M. bass but I wasn't complaining. That's a nice fish in anybody's book. I fished for about an hour with no hits . Then just like the first fish I got , i had a hit as I let the bait do it's free fall glide. It glides forward and down at a rate of about 2 ft. per second It looks like it's swimming as it falls, anyway I had another monster L.M. pick it up. Now I'm starting to rethink my Idea that this 10" bait is a pike bait. It is working great on L.M. in the 5lb. plus range. I fished for about 2 more hours and I did get a hit from what I think was a Pike. It didn't hit the bait at all like the first 2 hits I had. This time it about ripped the pole outa my hands. Then it swam right at me so I didn't get a good hook set. By the time I caught up to the fish it had droped the bait. I think I'm going to fish my big jerkbaits alot more from now on for monster Bass. I don't like catchin little fish anyway.
vishezfish
I use soft plastics 90% of the time!! I love em! I also use the jig, topwater and cranks, but my favorite is to throw a jerkbait out in the lilys and catch the Bucket mouth!! Senkosam your jerkbaits look great! If u don't mind me asking where r u from, I'm in nj and we don't really hear about to many 6lbers, I mean we get a few but not many, alot of 3's and 4's and even 5's!! Thanks to all you guys on the board, I learned alot and still learn from you!! Vishez fish

vishezfish
I'm just starting out, but yeah to my surprise I already caught 8 or ten fish on my bait! My friend was with me and I said, Hey try one! He said, Naa (while laughing!), but on our last trip they were hitting my bait again and he used one but only caught a rock bass on it, hek, I was proud anyway!! And my fish were decent size, 1 1/2 to 2lbers! I also caught rockbass and a bloody pick took one and broke my line!! But like I said, I'll take it! Senkosam had a kid catch a ten pounder i think, man that has to feel good! make em, take em and let em go!! vishezfish
I can't wait to catch a bass ten pounds or bigger.... But catching it on your own hand poured baits is the best!
