Tony P
When making jigs with weed guards do you mold the weed guard in when pouring or do you glue it in after painting? I like my jigs with a hand tied skirt. Do you tie your skirt in before or after you attach the weed guard? Thanks, Tony
Darkman
on do it model FWB-4-AF its the only way to get a weed gaurd plus the weed guard is "thinner" on the other models I pour with the base pin and after I dip them (using a teflon pin mind you) in powder paint...really is the best way and I glue the weed gaurd after I tie my jigskirts
yoda
I also cast with the pin then insert the Teflon pin for powder coating then glue weedguard in with loc-tite super glue gel.
cadman
I pour my jigs with the teflon pin in. Then I take the pins out, polish the jig, put my painting teflon pins in. Paint the jig, glue in weedguards and then hand tie my skirt on whether with thread or wire.
Jig Man
I pour with the pin in. I remove the pin and powder paint the head, then bake the head. I clean out the hole with a drill bit if necessary. I put on the skirt and lastly I put the weedguard in with superglue gel.

CincyFisher
I leave the teflon pin in for pouring, powder painting and for baking. After baking I remove the pins, super glue (Loctite) the weedguards in and the install the skirt. I just use the skirt bands for now. I need to start hand tying soon... The pins help keep the pain out of the hole so the weedguards fit perfect almost every time. The baked paint is a little bit tougher to scrape off the teflon pin but not too bad at all.
