Pikequeen
Does anybody have a good idea in how to make a swimbait insert outof a 6/0 swimbaithook?? Im planing on making my own insert to mould into my swimbait, so i want to make an Rtv mould and also have somekind of wire that comes out on the belly of the swimbait to attach a hook to, but i dont know how to atach the wire to the hook and mould a ledsinker on it aswell. is it a good idea to wrap it around the hook and then por led over the wraping? or is there a better way? I will make a big swimbait about 8-9" and would like to have a wire coming out just under the hook and one 2-3" behind it. it that possible or should i just go for one hook on the belly any tip is appreciated. rhahn427
Try this .......... a trick a guide on Lake Fork taught me. Take a bass sinker (baitcasting sinker with a brass wire line tie at the top) and place on the hook. You may have to bend your barb down though. and then put the swimbait hook part through the swimbait like usual. This acts like a ballast and a weight. It actually enhances the action (in my opinion) and allows you to change the weight according to the conditions without changing the lure. ......... Also it makes the lure fall horizontally instead of nose down. I paint the weights red so it looks like in is injured and stuff is hanging out ..........
