mifon
Can anyone give me your skirt tab colors (from FishingSkirts) that you use to make Sexy Shad? Thanks Mike
cadman
Mike, I like to use the stock pre-made colored skirts : Living Image, Sexy Shad #256 or if you like a little black in there, Living image #413 Sexy Shad HW (Half Wired). I found these the easiest to use without mixing color strands. However if you want to do the identical sexy shad, the original has white, grey, metallic blue and yellow as colors on the body. Then you can use: Metallic Yellow #140, Sexy Blue Grey #489, white #008 and Blue Shad #249 As far as powder paint colors goes the actual color would be in this sequence. Paint entire jig white, then dust 3/4 the way down on both sides with silver/grey powder, blend in and bake. Re-heat jig and put on yellow 5/8 down on both sides of jig just short of the silver and blend in, finally put blue on top of dorsal line and then about 1/2 way down on both sides and fade in. Heat well to blend all colors . Do not burn. The easy powder paint colors are these and I personally like this better: Paint entire jig white, dust in and blend yellow chartreuse about half way to little less down both sides of jig, bake jig, come back re-heat jig and put blue over top and down both sides about 1/4 to 3/8. Heat thoroughy don't burn paint. If you want a pic of the jig I can e-mail it to you, or I'll see if I can upload it in the gallery. smalljaw
I use that color on spinnerbaits, for a 3/8oz spinnerbait I use 2 full tabs and 1 tab is the living image sexy shad and then a half of a tab of smoke w/blue flake and a half of a tab of plain chartreuse. The reason I do that is it breaks up the color a little bit, having 2 full tabs of sexy shad is a little much but one tab with complimentary colors works really well.
