omartinjordan
I have managed to make a 2 part pop mold for a swimbait. I am having trouble getting the tail to pour right. I tried heating the mold up but it hasn't helped. Any suggestions?
basskat
You may need a small vent scribed into the tail section to allow air to escape. You didn't say but I'd guess that the tail is not filling completely.
omartinjordan
Correct. I am new to this so could you describe how to properly make a vent? I know what its for but not how to scribe it.
bflp
Use a small tool to carve a tiny channel from the tail section to the edge of the mold. Make it big enough to let air out, but small enough to prevent plastic from flowing through it. I usually use some tiny clay modelling tools to carve the channel. You generally only need to carve a channel in one piece of the two part mold. You usually want it to run from the furthest point from your pour spout to the edge.
