Vandy
Just curious if anyone has ever used shellac as a sealer and what the results were. I use a 2 part epoxy as the topcoat.
hazmail
Don't do it Vandy, I trialed it a few years back and after it cured and was clear coated it looked pristine, six months later everything under the top coat started to crack, seems it takes months for it to cure. ravenlures
Has anyone ever used the Minwax Wood Finish Penetrating Stain And Sealer. I used it on maple and depends how long you leave it it soaks in. I dry it off and let it hang a day or so. It seems better than mixing 50/50 varnish and mineral sperits. woodieb8
lacquer sanding sealers best. wood absorbs and it dries quickly. then the primer adheres to the sealer.
