Skimpy
Has anybody used that Creatology Glitter that they sell like at Michaels?
Silo1688
I thought I read somewhere since its not a polyester glitter it will melt and bleed. However, hobby lobby does sell very fine polyester glitter. I have not tried it...I did not want to take that chance. Have you had any success? It would be nice to know if it does work bc it's so easy to get.
patrick reif
Be careful with anything other than what's designed for the hobby. When I first started, I used some of my wife's craft glitter for sticks. When I heated it in the microwave, there was a little lightning storm in my pyrex cup just before everything caught on fire. It ended up being some form of metal flake, and it didn't play well with microwaves. I guess it could have worked with a different heat source, but I'm not going to find out since the real stuff is relatively inexpensive and available in every color I could want. Bears sells some good stuff.
bflp
I tried craft glitter my first time too. It couldn't take the heat and melted, looked pretty weird. As Patrick said, the proper glitter is cheap, better off just sticking with that.
