kidlizard
I went to Lowes and bought an aluminum dowel rod 1/4" Then a 1/2" wooden dowel rod for the handle. Drilled 1/4" hole in the wooden rod and cut the aluminum to length. A little devcon epoxy and some electrical tape and I have used the same 2 for over a year now. Works great and cleans up easy. Hope that helps John

Delw
I use bamboo skewers to stir my plastic...thats what i've always used and it has always worked for me. Thats funny, cause I been using the same for years now. My wife gets them at the dollar store in hundred packs. I break them in half and use them to stir all my plastic. basskat
I use popsicle sticks. Cheap and you can pick them up at Wal-Mart or any hobby shop.
BassnG3
I use an old flat tip screw driver handle never gets hot and I don't get as many air bubbles as I did when I used a wood dowel. I use popsicle sticks to lay the screwdriver on after stirring until it cools then remove excess plastic. BassnG3
redg8r
For you guys usin wood/bamboo...... Ive tried those, (Funny Del, I have thousands of bamboo skewers too ) have you all noticed air bubbling from the porous wood if you leave it in the plastic? it makes tiny air bubbles in my plastic, just curious if it was only me. Ive since switched to 1/4 aluminum rod like kidlizard uses. they double as great tube dippers also. anything but your fingers
Delw
Red as a matter of fact I have. I never thought about it much till you metioned. they must have a bit of moisture in them. I like the popcicle stik Idea. Chop sticks sound pretty good also. Delw
basskat
I've never noticed the bubbles with popsicle sticks. I may get them and haven't noticed it. I use the same sticks several times. You can just pull any plastic stuck to it off with little effort. I use them to stir my paint, epoxy, just about everything.
azbass
I've been using popsicle sticks for about 8 yrs. and have never had a bubble problem. I always rub a bit of worm oil on 'em and they never absorb any moisture and they are easy to clean.
redg8r
maybe its worse for me cause I live in a rainforest 6 mos. out of a year (south florida) humid is an understatement thanks
Tubeman
Red, ever notice salt left out in the open ( in the summer ) does the same thing ? You have to heat the plastic for a bit longer to "boil" out the moisture. I have always used a long metal spoon. It mixes color, salt and glitter quickly and its easy to peel plastic off of.
