nedyarb
Does anybody use this two part epoxy, too glue in their line ties and lips? I use d2t right now, but was considering trying this because its cheaper! Thanks, Rob
bluetickhound
I got some when I first stated buillding and the catylst hardered in the bottle.... Returned it and the other two sets on the shelf had also hardened in the bottles.... Got a total refund. I'd stay away from this stuff... fishmanmark
Same thing happened to me. Finely got a good one and I use it for line tie's and lips and have not lost one yet.
bassguy
I'm pretty reluctant to try something I haven't used before, even though it may be cheaper...."If it ain't broke....enuf said." Jerry
quickdraw
I use a medium body Super Glue on my screw eyes and a basic 2 part epoxy on my lips. http://www.supergluecorp.com/zap/zap-glues/zap-gap
nedyarb
Thanks for the responses. I asked because I bought some six months ago to try as a topcoat. However it did not work as well as I would have liked. So it's just sitting on a shelf and I started wondering? Rob
bluetickhound
I have numerous things I have accumulated in the past year or so that either didn't work very well or didn't work as well as other things.... I learned (much to my wife's chagrin....) that throwing stuff away is bad.... I can usually find SOME use out of just about anything... LOL - my first batch was crystalized as well, so I took it back. I later learned that the better stuff will almost always crystalize after time, especially if it goes through high and low temperature cycles. Just take the closed bottle and soak it in hot water until the crystals go away, then allow it to cool slowly. It will be fine again for some time, but I f not used up, of if you let it get cold again next winter, it will do it again.
bluetickhound
It's actually how I stumbled onto Amazing Clear Cast (or, ACC to the regulars here...) at Hobby Lobby... A far superior product to most any other I've tried yet. I haven't used Bob Smith or Solarez yet, however....I love me some DN S81 but the storage issues keep me from using it... Since I got onto dipping my lures, the "tap the can method" won't really work for me...
