ipt
i have seen people who drill out the side and plug the top injection port. does anyone have a good system for shooting top injection molds sideways? i can hold the mold on its side and shoot it, but i was wondering if anyone has come with a good system, such as a 90 degree copper fitting or something. Frank
Just curious why do you want to inject on the side? Most of the time it means more sprue and if it is a laminate it means more waste.
ipt
i've had better luck with side injection. it cuts down on pitting by a long shot. pitting isnt a huge issue but it happens way more often on top ports. but the biggest thing is because a side injected bait has way more appeal in terms of the glitter. top port baits never have surface glitter, its always stuck in the middle of the bait. Frank
Funny I get more hollows on side sprue molds. Just at the top of the cavitys.
