carpholeo
I had to try making some baits with the new joint style, I like the way they swim, but they are very time consuming to make by hand. Heres what they look like in the pool Shad Bluegill Channel Cat

mark poulson
Very nice! What kind of fabric did you use?
carpholeo
its polyester ribbon from a lanyard, like camera strap material. it's strong enough, but i'll have to wait and see how it holds up

nova
When I had my store running I got a sample bait from a Cal. company. The bait was called flex bait. Had a kind of woven fiber as a joint. There were4 or 5 sections to this bait. I don't know what the fiber joint was but it was quite flexible and swam really nicely.
Brent R
How is the fiber attached????
carpholeo
I just super glued the 2 halfs together with the ribbon inside, then quickly squeeze together with a vise, some sections i pinned as well. I would prefer to use the kevlar stuff like the bass pro ones, but so far i cant find a local source.
hazmail
Very nice action there, looks nice and supple. I tried the backing cloth off 'Velcro' a few years back, it seemed quite strong but was a bit stiff for the small bait I made (4") --- but may be good on a larger / heavier bait.
