RayburnGuy
Has anyone seen, or used, the Arbogast Buzz Plug? Not sure how long it's been out, but it looks like it would be an awesome night fishing bait. If you haven't seen one you can look at it at the link below. bassguy
Wow, someone was thinking way outside the box, like across the street on that one. I wonder if it wobbles side to side while being retrieved? Jerry
RayburnGuy
They claim it can be made to walk the dog or that it has a slight wobble when retrieved at a steady pace. It's also supposed to be almost completely weedless with the upturned hook and that it can be pulled over logs, etc. And with the floating body it can be stopped in it's tracks if a bass blows up on it and misses it. I'm thinking it should be a good night fishing bait and may have to pull the pin and buy one. If so I'll give a report on how it does. bluetickhound
I have one. It will cast a mile and yes, it can be made to walk or even run subsurface. I think it will really shine in sutuations where a frog has been unsucessful...I haven't caught anything on it yet but it's only a matter of getting up early and getting on the daybreak topwater bite on one of my local lakes.... It is very versatile and one of my lakes grows over with hydrilla late in the summer. I can't wait to see how this buzz plug will do on that stuff!! bluetickhound
And yes... I am already scheming on how I'm going to make one out if balsa!! I have too many other projects on the olate right now.... I just got my first worm mold in yesterday and am playing with plastisol!!
diemai
Never seen it before , .......yet a very interesting design , .......would surely have some ballast in the tail end . Thanks a lot for sharing , Ben , ......Greetz , Dieter
RayburnGuy
I think it's fairly new Dieter. I just saw an ad for it in this months edition of Bass Times. It's definitely something different. Good to hear from you. Ben

Good to hear from you. Ben Thanks a lot , Ben , ....could not help it and just ordered for one off US Ebay , ........in the video attached to the site that you have linked , it appears to be meaty enough to attract local pike , ....though I haven't had much success with any kind of "common" buzzbaits so far ! Always fond of a little out-of-the-box lure designs , ..........greetz , Dieter
RayburnGuy
I've been fighting the urge to buy one myself Dieter. Seems we have the same weakness for those unusual lure designs. I don't know about the pike in your part of the world, but I really do think it would be a great lure for fishing at night for bass. It would be almost totally weedless given the hook that's used and since it floats it could be stopped if a fish didn't connect on the initial strike. Be sure to give us a report when you receive yours. Ben

Ben If I should catch on it , I'll surely give notice in here , Ben , ....but delivery would take up to three weeks , I guess , ...most likely because of a hold up at the local custom' office at Frankfurt International , I suppose . I wonder , if that one could break the spell on me of not catching pike on buzzbaits ! diemai
I hope it does Dieter. Good luck, Ben I already have a certain swim in mind , ......the biggest one of our fishing club's ponds , .....caught two pike on a homemade topwater lure in there back in May , ...unfortunately lure fishing is restricted June thru July , ..so I've gotta wait until August . This spot seems to be a bank for pike , .....I've seen them chasing there again last week , whilst fishing for carp and stocker trout . You had already watched the video of the first catch back then : http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/index.php?/topic/26430-first-pike-2013-on-a-homemade-topwater-lure/ Guess I had never posted the second video on TU , .......same spot , same lure , but a bit larger pike : That shallow bay is a great spot , ...and if I should succeed with the "Buzz Plug" , then it might be right there , ....2-3 feet deep and quite a bit of weed growth , .....should be perfect conditions for the use of this lure . greetz , Dieter

Nathan
I played around with a similar concept bait about 10 years ago....It was a blast to fish and the fish knocked the heck out of it but I could never get a hook in a fish. Some times they would knock it 2-3 ft in the air but I never hooked one fish!.....Nathan
